GIANT Remix App

GIANT Remix is a creative ideation and publishing platform that blends physical and digital design experiences for kids. Youth join a creative mission at home, at school, or in a community organization by completing a worksheet that prompts them to dream up a character, animal hybrid, city building, town law, sport, mode of transportation, holiday or something else entirely. They draw and describe on their idea using paper and pen or hands-on materials. They upload a photo of their idea and the GIANT Remix app transforms their idea into a published artifact, such as a trading card, postcard, comic book, lookbook, game, poster, or something else. During the process, kids also build their AI literacy by giving feedback to AI agents on drafts of their artifacts.

PROJECT ROLES

Product + Project Manager

I lead a team of developers and UX/UI designers as we develop new features, fix bugs, and do app maintenance. I led the team through the first sprint to build an MVP of the app, creating a workflow system to track the status, progress, feedback, and timeline of the development process. I also manage the planning, development, implementation, and execution of product campaigns, including sales strategy and product positioning

Product Designer

Working with Azi Jamalian, CEO and Founder of The GIANT Room, along with GIANT’s UX/UI designers, I design the features for our various users: GIANT admins, families, and partners (libraries, schools, museums, stores, and community organizations). This includes creating logic flows, working in Figma, researching other edtech products, and communicating our ideas to the rest of the product team.

Experience Designer

A core element of the app is that it combines physical and digital design processes. Because of this, it is also important for us to design the user experience for the hands-on interactions. These include designing self-directed activity stations where users can participate and then connecting this in-person experience seamlessly into the digital one.

Kids and families stop by a community space, like a public library, and find a GIANT Remix Station inviting them to engineer a new building in their town.

Kids and families interact with the Remix Box at the station, take a Mission Sheet, fill it out using a Word Bank for inspiration, and then submit it by dropping it in the mailbox.

From hands-on ideation to digital design experience! Participants see drafts of their ideas in the app before publication. They can choose their favorite digital rendering (AI avatar) and give feedback to AI to improve the design and make it closer to their vision.

Submitted Mission Sheets are transformed into trading cards, comic books, posters, and more. Each field on the Mission Sheet maps to a field on the final publication, showcasing kids' original designs, ideas, and descriptions, along with the AI avatar they chose, updated based on the feedback shared.
